There are many people who decide to enroll in some sort of yoga classes but they don't necessarily understand the difference between AYoga and the popular forms of Hatha Yoga. So, let's take a closer look at what exactly these two types of yoga are.

This article will be all about explaining exactly what Yoga and Hatha Yoga is. Specifically, we'll be looking at the differences between the two. We'll then compare AYoga with what Hatha Yoga is and also how the two are different. So let's get started!
AYoga - In the original Hatha Yoga texts, AYoga is a form of meditation or contemplation. It is also referred to as "the practice of individual concentration". When practicing yoga you basically sit cross-legged and meditate on the object of your desire or intent. The object you choose can be anything from a personal need to peace or love.
The traditional methods of Yoga and Hatha Yoga were much more direct than what we have today. While AYoga and Hatha Yoga do use meditation and contemplation it does not always focus on the inner self. Hatha Yoga still focuses a lot on the inner self but the focus is much more focused inward.
So, what are the differences between AYoga and Hatha Yoga? Yoga practices are much more similar to the methods used in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and Qigong. Both of these methods focus on using both the physical and mental body. For example, in AYoga you will likely focus on the muscles of the abdomen and abdominal exercises.
Now, when you practice Hatha Yoga, a lot of the focus is around breath and sensations and meditation. The intention of the method is much more mental and inward than it is physical. In Hatha Yoga, you will focus a lot on breath and the minute you take a breath, you begin to become aware of your body.
It is important to know that Hatha Yoga is also a part of the Transcendental Meditation movement and if you are considering starting Hatha Yoga, you should definitely check it out. This style of yoga is very challenging and it can be very addictive if you get into it.
As you can see, there are a lot of similarities between AYoga and Hatha Yoga. The differences are mainly that AYoga focuses more on mind and not on the body, whereas Hatha Yoga focuses on the body and not the mind. But, these styles of yoga are very similar, so if you decide to start doing either one, you can use these as a way to start your yoga practice.
